Very nice 2001 Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 4 Tiptronic Gen 2, finished in Lapis Blue Metallic, with full Savannah leather interior. Factory options include: Tiptronic 5-speed transmission, cruise control, automatic anti-dazzle mirrors, rain sensor, rear window wiper, 8-position electric memory seats, and park assist. 

 

The 996 was a major departure for the 911, and initially caused controversy because of its water-cooled engine and Pinky Lai-designed 'slab-sided' looks, both of which seriously divided opinion among hard-core Porsche enthusiasts. However, many drivers were soon won over by its modern cabin, refinement and handling. 

 

The smooth profile of the 996 has aged well, and the purity of its lines has regained favour. It is a great daily driver - more user-friendly than the air-cooled 993 that preceded it, with normal (non-floor-hinged) pedals, an improved driving position, and a clearer dash layout. The second generation of 996s also had a larger engine with increased horsepower and better mpg, among other improvements. 

 

We know this car inside out - it has been sold twice before by us, has its maintenance history from new, and we can recommend it without reservation. It will be supplied with a year's MOT and a full service.
